On the Street - Emeryville

A few months ago - and due to circumstances beyond our control - Louie and I (and Sasha our cat) lived in Emeryville.

Emeryville is located right next door to Oakland and it actually turned out to be the perfect place for us to weather our storm. We found lots of great coffee shops and restaurants all within walking distance to our temporary pad.  The easy access to walking trails along the Bay was a plus!  I took these photos during our stay....

Emeryville also has a Utility Box Public Art Program..
here are 3 of the 25 pieces located throughout the city.

Not sure if these are part Emeryville's public art program but these are ironworks
located throughout the East BayBridge Shopping Center parking lot.

Thanks Emeryville - you made us feel right at home!

On the Street - South of France

I spent a week in the beautiful South of France a while back and stopped in Avignon, Arles, Carpentras, and Orange, and Marseille among others.  The wine was fantastic, the food was out of this world and of course, the countryside was beautiful.  Here's my photos.....

On the Road - Paris, France

A few months ago I was in Paris and found these trucks. I was all over town that day but most of these photos were taken in the the 20th Arrondisment.  Yogarden and I had just finished visiting Pere Lachaise Cemetery where we paid our respects to the late Jim Morrison of the Doors.  Pere Lachaise is located in the 20th Arrondisment.

If you go back as far as I do, you'll remember the Doors' Light My Fire which I think was the greatest song ever recorded. Anyhooo....

The Parisians must be into Looney Tunes.....

Flip side.....

Top side.....

What do you think - crepes? bread? pizza??

This truck was parked at Le Marche aux Puces de Saint-Ouen.  The  marche is actually located right outside of Paris city limits.  Note how close the car in back is parked!

I  now digress for a moment from Street Art...here are some monuments at Pere Lachaise which I thought were very interesting.....
